Yesterday we went for a drive. Along that drive we happened upon a cafe. Along with the cafe there happened to be a lovely shop. In that shop there happened to be this lovely vintage crochet cover that I happened to like. And as it happens the cover came home with us.
Initially I saw this pretty coverlet as a tablecloth, come summer, on the garden table; just the right size and weight (no light breeze will blow this one off the table, as tends to be the case with lighter weight tablecloths...)
But of course summer is still just a dream, as the temperature insists on staying well below zero, even during the day. Despite the bright sunshine the snow does not seem to be going anywhere in a hurry...
Yet I can't bear to 'hide' this lucky, pretty find in the linen cupboard while I wait for spring. So for now it will grace the spare room bed, where it does indeed look very much at home (maybe I'll have to rethink the tablecloth bit...?)
