January days
The weekend was indeed a grey and gloomy one, weather-wise, that is... So apart from lovely long walks in the woods with Zara, the dog, most of the time you could find me sat in my favourite wing chair, stitching or crocheting something.
I am equally exited about the result (so far) of both the "retro" patchwork and the crochet blanket. The latter has come to a halt, though, as I need to get myself to a yarn shop to stock up wool. Other than that, it is coming along rather nicely, and has reached about half of its planned finished size.
So at the moment I am concentrating on the "retro" patchwork, which I plan to make into another good size quilt (suitable for a bed, table or sofa...) Of course I still have a loooong way to go, but the are plenty of gloomy winter days to come, so I am sure I'll make good progress...

Looking fine and dandy there! Love the crochet, have you been following a pattern? :) x
Hi Ada!
Thanks for your faithful, and always so lovely comments ;-)
I have not used any particular pattern for the crochet. I just had this idea about making two different size granny squares, and placing the larger ones randomly. But I am sure I am not the only one to have thought of it, so there is sure to be a pattern somewhere to be found.
Both are coming along very nicely! I too have been doing several hexagon projects. Have a great day!
Så nydelig det blir, godt nytt, kreativt år til deg Mia!

Haven't ever done a hexagon, don't think I would have the patience. It's gorgeous! Working two different projects is always best in the winter. Not really far off from spring!
Hej Ada, I love your retro Patchwork♥ Soo nice. Have a nice week, greetings Puschi♥
Hei Mia.

Both are beautiful ... as always...love the colors you chose on the crocheted blanket. Very springlike! Have a great week.
Isn't it great that we have gloomy cold days to keep us home to finish our home projects?! Both your hexagon patch work and granny squares crochet looks beautiful and inspiring:)
Hei Mia.
Så godt med masse farger! Virkelig fine og sprudlende bilder :0)
Trenger litt oppfriskning nå, det er jo vintermørke en god stund ennå...
Ønsker deg et godt nytt år og en flott uke ♥

Hello Mia,
As always your latest projects are lovely. I'm trying to work out whether you crotchet or stitch your granny squares together.
Best wishes from the Garden of England
Jane
Mia, it was fun to see your springtime floral dream photos in the prior blog. I'd say that your quilt patchworking and crocheting in this post show that staying cozy indoors in January can also produce some beautiful textile flowering.
Just lovely results. I always like mixing up various granny square sizes in a single afghan. Your color choices in the hexagon patches work wonderfully together.
Bravo!
