Dreaming...
Our Christmas decorations, what little we had this year, have been put away today. There really did not seem any point in having a tree, as we were not going to spend Christmas at home.
So the few angels and extra lights that we did put up seem to have lingered on for longer than usual (the norm is to remove them on New Year's day).
But now that the festivities are over and the decorations are gone I am ready to start dreaming...
Even though it is mid winter, I can't help but dream of spring and summer... of flowers in bloom, of the colours and scents, and all the fresh vegetables straight from the garden to the table.
My garden delights me no end. It is not the tidiest nor the most well planned one, but it is mine ;-) And last summer it really did look lovely, at least for a while...
I am all for four seasons, and I am even able to welcome autumn, that comes after my beloved summer. But winter... it's just too long. I guess I could really do without it. Now all I can do is wait and dream...
How about you... do you long for summer (or maybe you are lucky enough to live in warmer climes and are enjoying summer as we speak)?

Beautiful summer pics! Love them!

Your pictures fill me with longing Mia ... maybe this year England will be blessed with a summer of long forgotten childhod.
Happy New Year, my dear

Beautiful pictures and they make me long for summer too. I like the four seasons, but like you, I could do without winter. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

One month of winter would be enough for me. Although it doesn't get very cold where I live, the grey skies, the rain, the chilly temperatures still make winter seem very long. And summer very short.
How lovely to anticipate the pleasure of your garden. Such beauty.
Hello Mia! I' m like you. The winter is soooo long here in Bavaria and sometimes we have snow in April. Summer is so so short here. I love gardening - it' s my life and often I think Madeira or so would be a paradis for me because it' s always warm and humid and perfect for plants. But we are here and so I have to dream a lot.... Have a wonderful weekend! With love,Geli
I love the photos of your garden - always so beautiful! I live in a warm climate with spring/summer weather all year, and I miss having different seasons - even winter!! When things are the same year round I think you miss the time of rest not having to care for plants so much, the planning, anticipation, and then the joy of seasonal changes... but then again, maybe that's just me.
Hej Mia,
i love autum at first and than comes Winter! In February we spend our Holidays in Sweden, because there is a right winter :)!
Your garden looks beautiful!

Mee too, I'm yearning for spring and we still have a way to go! LOVE your beautiful garden! :) x
Your garden looks beautiful, it's summer here, yesterday was a scorching 41 celsius, well over 100 in farienheit. We don't get snow and I can't imagine how hard you work to have your garden looking so beautiful after such a harsh winter. It is however, all worth it, your garden is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. XxBrenda

I would give anything to have a garden like yours! It's always so beautiful.
Beautiful as always Mia!
Many Blessings,
Melissa
Lovely lovely pictures- I like you have turned to planning and thinking about my garden- the flowers and the vegetables- all we need this year is better weather - that would be such a bonus for us here in the uk!
Åååå ja no er det tid til å drøyme om ein ny vår.
Fine bilder av herlig blomstring du viser.
God helg.
Klem MarJE.
I like the seasons but I am really a Spring and Summer person. Your garden looks very pretty.

Mia, what do you like to plant? I think I see leeks and basil, but I'm not sure. Do you have list of favorites to plant each year?
Happy New Year!
~Tracy
Hello Mia....I enjoy the colder weather because our summers are so hot and very long. January is a month to start dreaming about new gardens...a time I really enjoy! Your flower gardens are spectacular !!
I wouldn't mind winter, but here it goes from November to the end of May. It is just too long. Your flowers are so beautiful.
I am dreaming of a garden, too, Mia. Perhaps this will be the year to make my dreams come true as my hubby and I embark on the venture to find and make our home. Your gardens amaze and inspire me, and during our past years of many moves, I've lived my dream in my little heart via your pictures. Thank you so much for sharing. Happy New Years to you and yours --
Tracey
I´m longing for spring, too. When I grow up :) I want to have a garden just like yours!
to me, your garden looks wonderfully tidy and planned, Mia :)
But I have to say that I enjoy every season. If we always had summer we wouldn`t appreciate it as much, don`t you think?
Your wonderful, cosy home can make one love being inside, too.
But: happy summer-dreaming anyways!!
Love, Heide (from Germany)
Hi Mia, your garden looks beautiful! Here in Menorca (Balearic Islands, Spain), winter is warm, never below 0, and unfortunately I'm not used to see the snow. That's why I like your blog and your photos, they look great!
Underbara bilder...snart är vi där!
Kram,
Titti

Hi Tracy!
Thank you for your lovely comment!
Some of the veggies and herbs I grow (many of which can be seen in the photos) are; French and broad beans, onions (spring, red & white), various lettuce, radish, carrots, parsnip, beets, zucchini, parsley, dill, sugar snaps and peas, potatoes.
Love the photos of your garden. It's one of my favorite places to "visit"! It's very chilly here in New Hampshire and I'm bundled up. I just started some herbs in pots that I will hopefully be able to keep going until spring and put out on the porch. I have one small Impatient plant that I recently cut back because it was getting "leggy", so that's pretty much my garden. Your afghan is coming along beautifully as is your retro quilt. Happy New Year Mia!
Lovely blog and love your beautiful garden. Pretty colors! I dream of spring and summer too. This winter is not so white for us either. I'm also living in Norway and I am from a very hot climate so it has been hard getting use to this weather. Thanks for sharing your blog. Kristina
Moc krásné.Hlavně ty deky ze čtrverečků.Krásný den přeji.
Oh my God, i can not believe your garden is real!! Congratulations for everything you are doing!! Alina (Romania)
