I have been at it again... with my paintbrush. A bit of the colour Cricket, sandpaper and wax...
... and the old brown lamp base has got a new lease of life. It could probably do with a new lampshade as well, as many summers... and even more flies... later it too is looking slightly worse for wear.
I have three more of these candlestick lamps... all of them in (boring?) brown. Me thinks they will not stay like that for long, though. Watch out, Mia´s paintbrush is out!

The color harmonies are so beautiful...and I can almost detect that delight lavender scent as well. (I also love keeping lavender around the house, and often make little lavender-filled crocheted sachets. They make wonderful gifts.)

Your lamp looks pretty this way.. but as a person whose home is full of antique furniture sporting it's natural wood grain.. I wonder, was this hand carved antique oak? ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I am afraid my candlestick lamp is new, as in not antique. When I say it is old I mean I have had it for donkey´s years. Out of the four brown lamps I have only one of them is actually antique. And I do have to admit I am a bit hesitant to paint that particular lamp ;-)

I sausenebbet har jeg tørket lavendel, kjøpt i Nice for flere år siden. Men fortsatt dufter de (om enn svakt), spesielt ved berøring.
Fint du målat Mia! Kul med lite nytt förstås men jag gillar även lamporna i brunt för det bryter av lite mot allt det ljusa......men det är ju jag det....:)
