Roses...

I do believe roses are my very favourite flowers. But despite my very best efforts I have not had great success with them in my garden. I tend to think our cold climate is to blame...

But thanks to the unusually mild winter it is a different story this year. In fact I believe my roses have never looked better...

This year the Austin rose Constance Spry is a favourite. I can hardly believe my luck that this beauty is in fact blooming in my garden. Oooh, the beauty... and the scent!

Another favourite is Henri Martin. Now neither Henry nor Constance have flowered for me the last two summers. But this summer it seems they both are making up for it.

The lovely rosy pink colour is not only evident in my garden, it seems to pop up in my house as well. Once again I am totally loving this rosy fabric and my trusty old granny blanket.

(While I have had my blog break Blogger seems to have changed quite a few things. As a result I do not seem to be able to create a bit of space between my photos and the text. Any ideas as to how that can be achieved...?)

So nice to see you back again, Mia - you were missed!
Blogger has changed a few things, but I've found that just fooling around a little with it leads to all sorts of solutions.

Hei Mia!

Kos deg i din vakre hage, Mia.

Mia, it seems that just as you are welcoming the return of your beautiful roses, we readers are also very happy to welcome the return of your postings!

As Pondside has written, I have found that if I experiment a bit with where I "plant" my cursor and press the Enter key, I can usually get the spacing I want to see around my photos.

Mia, I'm so glad you are back! It's really silly, but when you closed your blog, I felt like I'd lost a dear friend. I don't begrudge you taking a break, though. I'm glad you had a good break, and now we can see how your garden is growing! Everything is beautiful!

Welcome back Mia! Your beautiful roses are a delight for the eyes. Illinois is in drought along with 26 other states in the U.S. It has been dreadfully hot as well, so my roses are cooked:-( I'm glad that roses are prospering well somewhere. My favorite is Double Delight. Do you know it?Hopefully we will get some rain, and there may be an autumn blooming of roses. So happy that you are back:-):-):-)

Dear Mia, I was just tipped by a dear friend that YOU ARE BACK!! HIP HIP HURRAY!! Welcome!!

Hi Mia! While you were away I had to start two new blogs to replace my full ones.

Loved seeing your roses. I too never have great success with roses but they are doing okay this year to spite our huge amount of rain. I am really pleased my precious Edith Holden rose survived the extreme winter frost we had. You can see it on my blog.

Hugs from Holland ~
Heidi

P.S. - blogger will not let me tell you how to fix the spacing problem so I would have to email you about it. It I can find your email I will send it to you separately. Silly blogger!
