I do like hexagons, and over the years have made quite a few hexie quilts. But hexies require hand stitching (I know there is a "roundabout" way of sewing hexies by machine, but the end result does not appeal to me that much. I just prefer to do them "the hard way"). Call it old age (!) but I find it increasingly overwhelming to stitch a whole large quilt by hand (this one is still about the same size as when you last saw it).
So hexie cushions suit me just fine. This one from last summer is the first one I made, and still a firm favourite. Yet last month I wanted to give another one a go. And this is the end result of it. Truth be told I was not at all sure about this one at the outset. But I like to think it turned out a-okey. I especially like the way it snuggles up in my old denim chair.

Fot the backing I have used one of my fave Cath Kidston fabrics (is it just me, or do you also find that Cath´s fabrics are not quite as pretty as they used to be...? To me the colours do not seem as fresh and bright any more). This particular fabric is in fact part of the curtain valance that used to dress the laundry window (and just in case you wonder... this is what the room looks like now).

Nydelig Mia :)
Hi, I think it is really hard to make such a nice hexagon pillow. It is wonderful and the colors are always so fitting together.
Have a nice sunday evening
Tina
Kjempe flott .....
Fin kveld til deg :)

Hej Mia!
Kram Karin
Very pretty! I like the calmness of english paper piecing at this time too.
I do rather like the softer colours. Hexies are floating in and out of my mind as I am going away soon for a weeks quiet holiday and want something smallish to take to keep me occupied. Did I tell you that your denim chair is so inspiring me that I also have one on the go. It will be a slow process and will be made from denim skirts rather than jeans. Thankyou. Cherrie
Oh that is so pretty. I like hand stitching. It's the time that I can sit with my family and still accomplish a craft. :)
Such a cheery cushion!
I don't mind hand stitching - I do it at night while I watch TV.
Your new cushion is so very beautiful, love the fabrics you have used and the colour combo, very soft and light, but also colourful, looks perfectly matching spring. Would love to make one, too, but sewing is unfortunately a bit out of my abilities, but I will give it a try one day for sure, just because of your lovely cushion.
Have a great day and enjoy your crochet,
with best wishes,
Suzi

Yes I do agree about the Cath Kidson fabric, although this one of yours is very lovely and bright.
There's something very soothing about a hand stitching project. Your cushion is very pretty.

A lovely cushion. I'm not very old, :) but I think a smaller, portable, hand-sewn project is very relaxing and satisfying. Sometimes it's nice to do something a little slower in this fast-paced life.
Mia! Your blog is so lovely, i read your blog since last year and now i find words to gratulate you and to say to you that your words make me happy and i like your pictures so much!!!! Ela
Your hexie cushion is gorgeous! I love the colours you've used and the pretty floral on the reverse.
I have just finished one too on my blog!!
