Gosh, I am overwhelmed by all your lovely comments in regards to my previous entry. Thank you! It seems we are definitely not indifferent when it comes to orange, as most of us indeed either love it or hate it.
Yet I am still trying to make friends with the aforementioned colour. But I think we are getting there... Even though a fair bit of fine-tuning and tweaking has taken place since my last post.
Over the weekend I crocheted quite a few squares, adding several more colours as I went. Only to find out they did not work, and proceeded to undo the whole lot. After having put the sorry affair aside for a few days, I picked it up again last night, determined to make it work.
I think my stubbornness has paid off and that I am finally onto something... the white wool has been discarded, along with the lightest pink, while another turquoise and a lighter lilac has been added. Now I think I like it...
Happy Valentine´s Day to you all!

I think the aqua/teal/orange/red square is very pretty!
Happy Valentine's Day to you, too!

Kram Jeanette
I love this colour combination! It is better without the white.
Lækkert, næsten til at spise!!!
I didn't think I cared for orange either but then I did this quilt

and decided that it's a much maligned colour indeed!
I think you have it right now! I really love the colors! So bright, so cheerful! Orange is beautiful. Tangerines, melons, lilies, Sunsets, Sherbet, Daffodils! What is not to love! Happy Valentine's Day!
Mia,
I love your bright cheerful squares! I couldn't quite believe my eyes, not having visited for a while (about the COLOUR!) You have proven that you can do brights, pastels, whites and neutrals all with panache!
Blessings to you,
Alex /' Hazelnut' x
Looks wonderful. I think the orange gives the squares a certain amount of pop.

It does look beautiful. You sure have a lot of patience (you call it stubbornness). I just don't have nearly the patience you have to undo and redo, though when it comes to crochet doilies, I can do it, lol. Have a lovely Valentine's Day.
I was amazed to see that the predominate color in this February's issue of Martha Stewart's magazine was orange. There it was - laced throughout - next to the pinks and reds and soft colors of Valentine's day. They even made it so subtle and elegant...light blue was subtly laced throughout, also.
You can get a splash of the idea, if you're interested, here... in just the thumbnails that you can see. Interesting!

(er, I know that this won't show up as a link but you can cut and paste this into the address bar....)
Just a sharing of ideas....
thanks for all of the cheeriness and good luck with it all! =]
and, Happy Valentine's day, Mia!

YAY! I am not the only one who will take a project apart because the colors are not workig for me hehehehe. Love the squares!
Mia, I return your Happy Valentine's Day wishes!
Isn't it fun to experiment with a color new to our familiar palette, and try to become friends with that new shade.
I really do like the way in which you've incorporated that jolly orange yarn into your granny squares. The harmony is sweet and the accent is perfect!
As always, you have found delightful other bits and pieces to make your photographs truly unique. Bravo...the olive tin is superb. xo
What truly beautiful photos hon! So colourful and cheerful. The granny squares are fabulous! Leah
They all look very pretty.
I liked the colors, but wasn't completely sold. Now I'm in love. Great job! I'm so anxious to see how the final product turns out.
I adore your color combos.
