Paris love

The reason for my recent silence is... Paris! As it happens yours truly has a special day this month, one that my loved ones thought reason enough to celebrate.

So taken quite unawares, I was literally swept off my feet and flown off to Paris, to celebrate that very special day.

Now I have been to Paris only once, way back in my youth... more years ago than I care to remember. But Paris stayed in my mind as one of those places I would love to return to. And now I have.

Paris was at her best behavior and welcomed me (or so I thought) with sun, bright blue skies and pleasant temperatures.

I did many of the touristy things expected of one; Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, Latin Quarter, Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre... you name it.

And I loved it all. In fact, I love Paris, and can hardly wait to return. In the mean time I better brush up on my French, which at the moment is limited to merci, bon jour, au revoir, bon soiree and the like...

Next time I will show you where we stayed (right by the Opera), and what I brought home from Paris...

Oh how wonderful Mia! My husband and I are going to Paris together to celebrate our birthdays in December! It will be my first time and my husband´s first time in Paris- outside the airport- which he uses all the time when he travels to Brazil where he works. We were in Rome in October and I fell madly in love with Rome and have difficulty believing any place could be better but my husband is insistent that Paris is the capital of romance and so I´m really excited to go and see if it lives up to it´s reputation!!! Do you recommend any places to eat?
Have a great weekend Mia :-)

Mia, Paris is a fantastic place for a special event! I've only been there once myself, and am really longing for another, longer, visit.

Maybe next year.

Bon anniversaire!

I've been to Paris 3 times and wish I could go more often. There is so much to see and hear and absorb (and eat!)

Mais oui, j'aime Paris aussi! The last time I visited the city was last year (2010), with my husband & kids ( http://richtsjes.punt.nl/index.php?r=1&id=481389 ) and I would love to go back already. But then you must know that I'm a real citylover, though living a rural countrylive...

Bonne Anniversaire!
I lived in Paris many years ago, and coulndn't agree more - it is a lovely city!

For your next stay, you should try to see the Sainte-Chapelle, the Rodin museum with it's lovely garden (a must-see), try the world famous ice cream at Berthillon, and have some wine and cheese at the river banks of the seine on Ile de la Cite or Ile St. Louis - and visit the Jardin the Luxembourg!
Those are my favourites, anyway:-9

Hope you had a great birthday, and a great trip!:-)
